TINY KindTreeKids Social Play Days! Ages 3-5
-play-based learning social skills groups-
KindTreeKids with Communication Interventions is excited to open up our programs to TINYS!! These programs will offer a foundation of what KindTreeKids is all about. This will be a platform for them as they age into learning the basics of social skills while building peer engagement and successful play skills.
This Fall season, our Tinys will explore ways that we can UNDERSTAND and CARE.
We will practice:
building empathy by understanding and honoring all feelings.
opening our senses to recognize what it feels like to be overwhelmed.
connecting with others and remembering we all experience situations differently.
opening our minds to be stronger listeners and problem solve.
understanding how mindful living can create calm and peace in our lives.
DATES:
Sunday, August 17
Sunday, September 14
Sunday, October 5
Sunday, November 30
*Sunday, December 14 - different location/hike
TOPICS:
August 17 - Understand & Care
Understanding how another person feels is important for healthy relationships. This group will explore ways that we can understand people who may feel like us, or they may feel very different than us....and that's okay. All feelings matter and are important for each person. We will discover empathy as we learn how to show we care by listening to others and honoring their feelings.
September 14 - Too Much!
Sometimes the world is just TOO MUCH! We will learn more about our sensory systems and what it means to have "sensory overload". The more we understand the when, why, and how our body sends us signals when we are experiencing overwhelm, the better we can be equipped to respond to these sensations in healthy ways.
October 5 - Problem Solving With Friends
Our Tinys will explore ways to show they care. We will learn that we can calm ourselves, talk about our problems, listen to understand, think of ways to solve the problems, and then choose the best plan. We will brainstorm sample problem scenarios and come up with solutions together.
November 30 - Diversity: Our Differences Can Make the World a Better Place!
As we enter the holiday season, we want to remember how everyone has differences, which is what makes our world and experiences so amazingly special. How could we create a rainbow if we only had one color crayon? This month, we will discover what makes us unique and how we can all grow together.
December 14* - (FALL HIKE) Finding the Calm by Engaging With Our Senses
While we hike through the woods, we will learn mindfulness and living mindfully. We will practice increasing our awareness (by using all of our senses) to become calmer, more focused, and more peaceful by feeling, smelling, and listening to the beautiful spaces around us.
